My new BBC is finished and sitting in the car waiting on the fuel system to be finished along with some wiring. I was hoping all the other engine builders here could look at my combo and give me some estimates on the potential power and performance. If I leave out any details you need, just ask. I'll do my best to answer them.
BB Chevy 4.375 x 4.000 481" 12.25:1 CR 6.135 rods 990 heads with 2.25/1.88 11/32" valves bowls blended, short side radius reworked, and chamber unshrouded flow numbers are for #6 port(bad port?) & no pipe on exhaust .100 72/59 .200 143/113 .300 215/139 .400 261/165 .500 290/186 .600 306/204 .700 323/213 .800 333/216 Howards solid roller 7/4 swap ADV 314/322 050 278/287 200 187/196 110 LSA/109 int CL lobe lift .439/.430 valve lift .790/.731 rockers 1.8/1.7 Weiand 4150 Team G with 2" 4500 adapter opened up (still has venturi) and blended on intake side #9375 1050cfm Dominator (stock non HP style) intake has no port work to plenum or runners Hooker super comp headers for G-body 2" x 30" primary 3 1/2" x 10" collector open headers,will test with collector extensions
The engine is going in a 84 Regal approx. 3400# w/ driver. It has stock style bolt on suspension and 29.5" x 10.5" slicks. Trans is currently a TH350 w/ 9" convertor. Stall speed should be 40-4500. Rear gear is 4.30 . I plan on spraying a small plate (<250hp) sytem for grudge racing. This is why stall speed is low. I plan on adding a PG w/ a brake when the budget allows. What do you guys think? What are your opinions? Any guess on the times w/ and w/o nitrous?

430gears and a 250 shot - sounds like youre gonna run out of rpm, too much gear if youre speyin, I'm guessin it should go 150mph with a 250shot easy. But should do fine on motor - as it should crack some 9s.

Running on spray will be limited to 1/8 mile. Builder says engine is good for 7600. Do you think high 9's on muscle is possible? I might want to try a local 6.0 class that runs at Outlaw 10.5 races.

I think it should go high 9s on motor, youre only 100lbs more then me and down 21 cube, but have way "more motor". It may take some tunin/tweakin, but I think it should do it. Harold S. needs to answer this - sprey part of your combo.

Sounds like a pretty good combo. I don't know about nines though unless you live at sea level. I had a similar combo exept it was 468 and ran 10.60s at best in this chitty air where I live (5500 to 7000 ft da) I need to move ! LOL Good luck and Merry Christmas .

Looks like low 10s, maybe real low 10s if it hooks good. I'd say expect 10.30s in average air. 67RS502 is right about the spray. It seems to be if the converter is tight the juice makes it a lot looser. If you only spray it on the eighth mile it should be O.K. and may run 6.0s. My son has a pretty good 540 in a 3600 pound Chevelle and his best eighth is 5.79. The 481" with chevy heads ran mid 10s and your car is 100 pounds lighter than my sons car was at the time.( It has more cage now and the Dart block is about 40 lbs. heavier than the Chevy block, hence the weight gain. I sure would like to see what our car could run in Houston's air. Some of our local racers have run in Louisiana and say that they get numbers that are about two tenths faster there.

It all really depends on what the Corrected alt is where you race. If your racing in 2000ft air then Im guessing 10.20-10.50 depending on your tuning ability, with the juice you should have no problem at all running very low sixes, as long as the traction is there...........Tyster

I don't have the euipment to measure weather conditions. I race at Carolina Dragway in Jackson, SC. The track is 350' above sea level. Any guesses as to what density altitude would be on a typical spring night (we race on Thursday nights).

The track you are talking about is worth 2 tenths over any track I have run on. One of the best tracks in the country. And this time of year it really likes to produce some stout numbers. The ADR has been in the lower 200' range and on "bad" nights in the lower 400' range.

I say 10.50s in ~2000 da weather.
The heads don't flow very well, about the same or worse than Dad's iron ones on his 555 now. Which are getting replaced real soon.
His car went 10.3s, on a weak 60' time.
I think your converter is going to hurt you also, with the 9". You would be better off with an 8" which would give you more efficiency down the track.
On the juice you should be into the 9s, but don't see it happening on motor alone. Put some good heads on it and you should be there no problem.
