What collector legnth should I have for a 700 hp 415 sbc in a 3,300 lb Chevelle with 1 7/8 primarys with 3 1/2 collectors? The reason I ask is because the headers I have came with fairly short collectors.

Adding 18" collector extensions will increase you bottom end torque without hurting the top end if you have open exhausts. It generally adds about 15-20 ft. lbs. of torque below 4000 RPM. The newer merge collectors that also neck down then expand back out in the style of a megaphone give even more power. Burns Stainless makes some models of this style collector but are somewhat pricey.
