Ok I am going to be building a new small chevy for a 1/8 mile S10 project. I have been wandering if there are any advantage or disadvantage to small combustion chambers with flat tops vs. large chambers and domes. I have been thinking of using 49cc iron eagles on a 406 with flat tops to get around 14:1 or should I stay with 64cc and domes? Thanks

the 49cc heads have about 20 degrees of valve angle. Valve relief is an issue. I like the smaller chambers. Heard a lot about better flame travel...but I think the pistons are a little lighter.

I think the main advatages are the using a flat top piston which is lighter while providing the more efficient combustion enviroment. Like bigjimzll said if you can get away with the valve relief then go for it. Or sell them to me for $50 ;D
