Talked to Wolfplace on the phone today (thanks Mike). We talked a little about piston to wall clearance for a nitrous application and if it is really necessary to add clearance. So what do you guys think? If the tune up is right (which you hope it is anyway) do you really need extra clearance? Brian

My opinion is there is no reason to run a ton of extra clearance with nitrous but as I told you I don't do hardly any nitrous stuff. For 300 I would give it an extra thou but that's about it. I run stock manufacturer recommended clearance in all my circle track stuff, both gas & alcohol with no issues. I would give yours an extra thou being as it's in a boat. Damn pistons tend to get hot faster than the block,,, So for your deal I would go an extra ..0015 to .002 total or use the manufacturers specs for Marine & nitrous if they have them. Or,,, when all else fails,,, I'd follow the instructions ;D

Usually you don't need the extra clearance. On purpose built nitrous pistons they sometimes put in and extra 1/2 thou or so. Keep with the normal deal and make the motor happy.
