I have built a 414 sbc 4.125 X 3.875 and was looking for opinions on how it might run in a 3400 lb stock suspension car that hooks. It has Dart 230 Pro1 and matching Dart intake. 13.7:1 static compression, 266/272 @ .050 .600/.600 109ls solid roller. 6" rods, o-ring block and copper head gaskets. 750 Holley HP or 1050 Dominator on dart dominator intake. 1 7/8 headers, 3 1/2" exhaust to the axle through bullets. Plan to spray 375-400 through a single stage plate. 8" TCI converter and 4.10 or 4.30 gear with 29" Hoosiers, 1/8 mile action. All good stuff in the block, really just curious about the induction package, sound like it will work?

I have a very similar combo. Its all new and waiting to be put in the car. So I cant tell you any E.T.'s yet. I went with a Pro Systems 1050 Dominator and thats what I would highly reccomend. Call them up and they will tell you what you need. Sounds like you will need a Pro Systems Nitrous Series 1100 Dominator. You will also have quite a Monster on your hands. I am really impressed with mine. This engine was built with spray in mind. (300-350 shot) It produced 660 hp and 600 tq on the flywheel dyno. We were still running a little rich and the vacuum pump was only pulling about 6 psi, when It should be closer to 15. Once its dialed I expect it to be closer to around the 700 HP range. Its going in a 69 Chevelle that weighs in at 3,300lbs. 415ci 4.125 x 3.875 x 6" rods Dart Little M block billet splayed caps CFM Dart Pro 1’s 215cc/64cc 2.08/1.6 318cfm/230 CFM Ported Edelbrock Super Victor Wiseco Premium Pistons 14:1 Total Seal TNT Gapless Nitrous/Blower Series Scat 4340 Forged Steel 3.875 Crankshaft Scat 4340 H-Beam 6in Rods w/ ARP 2000 bolts ATI Super Damper 7inch Cam Motion Custom Solid Roller 264/277 @ .050 .688/.688 111*cl Crower S/D Roller Lifters Pro Systems 1050 Dominator Moroso 3 vane vacuum pump Meizer electric water pump www.pro-system.com/

Sounds like it would probably go 6.30's on the motor and 5.80's maybe 70's on the juice.

I ran a 406 with similar heads, less compression (11:1) made 653 horse on Steve Schmidt's dyno, 1175 Pro Systems dominator, small cam 260-270 dur. >.700 lift. 3420#'s hooked with 1.3's. Ran a best of 6.01, but that was hitting 2nd off the line. should have gone 5.8 or .7's like Mike estimated. If you can hook and drive you should be 5.7's, with a 300 shot. FWIW: I'm selling my intake with the fogger rail system from NX. In the for sale section! Dave Brown 217-343-2209

Sounds great. I was thinking that 6.40 on the motor sounded optimistic! I am going to run it on a 750 4150 carb to start out and switch to the dominator when I get it rebuilt. I have seen nothing but good things come out of Pro systems shop, so I am looking in that direction. I have the choice right now to go with dish pistons or dome pistons. I was going to cut the dome off and run flat top, but after further investigation, they are hollow dome ( I bought both sets already, just have not had the domed ones out of the box yet.). I would like to see some very limited street use (cruise nights, etc.) out of it, and will run it on Sunoco 114 so what do you think, domes or dish?

I forgot, I know I said it was built. I have all of the parts and machine work finished, but am getting ready to assemble it. I am leaning towards the dome pistons.

Go with the domes. As long as you plan to have limited street use it would only make sence to take advantage of the power gains of more compression. Either that or go forced induction.
