well dont worry I wont ask again on this board. ???AS it being funny no. = Shawn, don't get your panties in a bunch, I was just giving you an honest opinion. Ask anything you want & someone will try to answer but there are some who get on here lately & are "interesting" to be polite about it & I am sure you have read some of the stuff ;D If you ask a question & get an answer you don't like there is no disrespect intended just an opinion & mine is your combo ain't gonna work. The combination of a head that big on an engine that small is going to be a completely mismatched combo not to mention the intake & carbs. You cannot just stick a big head on a small engine & expect it to run, it doesn't work. You need velocity to make the thing work & a sewer pipe sized head on a small engine is not the way to do it. You basically want the smallest port you can run for the size of engine you have to the RPM you want to run it too not the biggest head you can put on it. Sorry if you didn't like the answer but I think you are going to hear the same thing from anyone here. As for 85 IROC's answer, it was true,, put more engine under the parts listed & you may have a winner

I didn't mean any disrespect and I didn't mean that you must have big cubic inches to go fast. I just thought, as Wolfie said, not enough cubes for the rest of the combo.
For the record, I run a HUGE 355ci sbc with 9.7:1 compression, single 750 holley (junk) and one fogger went 6.37 @ 109 w/ 1.34 60' @ 3100 lbs.

I am sorry about being so hasty on my answer. As far as my combination last season was 3450lb on 11inch dot tires.Went 6.62 106 1.45 60 ft on the motor. With a 28 jet in the fogger no timing pulled out went 6.24 117 sixty ft was off spun when we hit it.

can I ask why you're switching to a smaller motor?

With that much nitrous i'm not sure what the outcome would be. The motor sounds a little small but if you smack it real hard it will probably run like a jet. The torque of a 5-600 horse nitrous hit makes a motor think it's King Kong. If you get the fuel and nitrous mixture set up correctly it will probably run real good for about 4 seconds or until the head gaskets let go. If you weld in the four bungs and add extra head bolts where chevy left them out and o-ring the block and use copper head gaskets it might hold up for a while. It might however be an expensive experiment also. It also might work better with RR BB-0 with the CNC chamber option. You'll also likely encounter interference between the 2.3" intakes and the cylinder walls of that small bore.

The block has a eyebrow so to speak at the top of the bore. But I may scrap this idea all though I have custom made venlioa pistons.I took my 427 block to the machine shop this morning going to be 4.375 bore.Probably going to run it with the H.T.C crank I got 3.40 stroke with small journal small block chevy rods. The rods are from brooks.Sorry again about being hateful. No harm intened.

Shawn, No problem here, glad to try & help if we can. It's just as you know we have had our fair share of "interesting" posts on occasion & I like to be sure you be who you supposed to be ;D 99% of the folks here great people who try to help each other by sharing information but once in a while we have to have our 1% dork drop in to amuse us What the hell though, things would probably get boring without our resident "genius"
