Have these 2 intakes and was wondering which you think would be the best for the application. 358sbc pump gas, 500+hp, 215 cc head, solid roller .600" lift. I will also be throwing alot of nitrous on it later (270+hp) -Brodix SP-1 single plane -Edelbrock Super Victor
Thanks..

Just di a very similar combination for a customer, slightly smaller head, used the Super Victor. Works very well and will be more than enough to make the power you want to make.

Okay...just dynoed the motor with the Brodix SP1 intake and I have another question. The corner cylinders 1.2.7.8, were all quite lean, compared to the inner 4 cylinders. The EGT readings were @1450* outter and @1200* inner. The A\F was 13.3 at the hightest. What could be the issue?

You iwll get that inconsistency with many differnt manifolds. Some can be cleaned up with the right spacer, or it can be in the fuel curve on the carburetor, etc..Just so you know, egt's in the 1420 are not lean, they are right on. The 1200 egt's are considered too rich. Technically the 1420 is leaner than the 1200, but not considered too lean, just happens to be right on as far as egt's go. the 1200 is considered on the rich side. Manifold porting can help this as well, concentrating on the side that tends to run richer may need to be opened up a bit more as the shorter runners see more fuel sooner, and do not flow enough air.

In my experience the Brodix/HVH intakes have the runners too far extended into the plenum. In most cases that wouldn't be a bad thing, but the Brodix runners are not straight up and down. They lean toward the center runners. If you bolt the carb on and open the throttle bores and looks straight down, you will see that the extended runners block flow to the center cylinders. I just spent a bunch of hours cutting back the runners in a Brodix/HVH 1809. They can make power, but they take a lot of work IMO.
I would blend the plenum on the Super Victor and let it rip. I'm willing to bet it will make more power and have better distribution.
The Brodix BBC intakes have the same problem, but only worse. Especially the Big Duke stuff. I've been told trimming the runners back on a ~1000 HP BBC is worth about 60 HP.

The Super Victor has that problem because, like Jason said, the runners are layed to the side in the plenum. To fix this (or make it considerably better) clean up the plenum intery to the top of the runners with a nice wide radius. then stick a 1" (or more) open spacer on it. Do not stick a 4-hole on it, that will make it worse.

Have any of you ever tried one of Brodixs Turtles or super turtles? What are your experiences with them? Was thinking of trying on to help direct the mixture.
Thanks for your input...alway take advice from the experienced!!!

Reason being is that I have access to a ported Victor Jr 4+4 intake with a super turtle in it and a 4 hole blended to open spacer. And I was wondering if that might be something to try. Who knows...
