500 cubic inch Chevy 3.76 stroke 4.60 bore lightweight Howard's pro crank Howard's billet rods custom 15:1 JE pistons with gas ports and am planning on wet sump. This will be a bracket motor mainly and a few quick 16 races. no nitrous Will have around .800 lift and 285-290 Dur @ .050. around 110-112 lobe sep. With any luck plan on 8500 red line give or take. need help on head selection and wonder if super victor will be a correct choice for intake. 69 nova 3300 lbs glide 1.76 Dana 60 and have gears from 4.56- 5.57. Will have converter made for app. 14-32 Goodyear's 1984 d-5's. any help much appreciated for I have heard mixed feelings on head selection. I don't really feel I need anything exotic. staying with 23 deg for costs. Thanks in advance.

Well, big block heads are not 23*...lol. But we knew what you meant. Sounds like this engine will see some rpm. You are correct, you do not need anything exotic. I assume you are talking a power peak in upwards of 7,800+ ? I would consider Canfield's 310 version with some minor work. I sell these as package deals complete as I am sure Mike does, and are not expensive, not exotic but do work! Best bang for the buck and are readily available. If you need assistance, let me know. The 310 would work really well. It might start to limit you just a tad on the top end. I have a set of AFR 345's for sale that would make awesome power as well. I would shy away from the Super Victor at 500" and 3300 lbs. Go with the Victor 454R instead. It will give more mid range power. 800+ HP should be no problem with this deal.
