I apologize in advance for this being kinda long. Here is the deal, which combo will make the most power a 468 with a 049 head, roller, single plane, fogger,(hittin it pretty hard at least a32 jet) this combo is a stock crank alum. rod, 12.5 to 1 or higher, deal or a 383 ish sbc with a good 23* iron head(ie. 230 iron eagle) as much cr as possible, vic. jr, roller, and a set on kill plate. the chassis this will be gong in is a stock suspension fox body. It is for a local drag radial class with no min. weight. The bbc welll fit this class and the sbc will fit this one and another local class the is a plate only small block class. I am a chassis builder and we dont deal with these types of low buck engine combos much. We are trying to give the customer the best advise for his engine program until he can afford better. Again thanks a million for anyones help.

You'll go faster with the BB. I have seen this combo go as quick as high 5's in the 1/8th in a heavy car. The small block would be about 1 to 1 1/2 tenths behind.

If the heads are worked a little with bigger valves the motor should make about 650 HP. The nitrous will add another 250 to 300 or so. Do the math. The small block will be done about 850 HP on the spray. The BB will be more reliable with it's bigger bore and heavier parts.
