Just wondering what head i should be going with. Had a set of merlin oval ports(home ported) on a 454 8 to 1 comp solid roller 260/268 @.05 .714/.714 lift. Ysi supercharged at 5.5 psi in a 1969 chevelle 3800 pounds ran a 10.59 @ 132. Ate another intake guide for some reason they are cast but there no one else around that can do heads so am looking at aftermarket. Dont want to lose any power would like to pick some more up and may add more boost. Am looking at brodix race rites 270 cc or afr 305 both with cnc chambers. Or if I went with brodix would it be worth changing over to a rect port? Rpm's are 6500 shift and would like max to be 6800 thru traps. Or is there a better head to look at? Thx for any input, Brent

You have 2 really good choices there. Either will do a nice job. The AFR's flow more, but will take a long time to get so be prepared. Keep the oval unless you plan to make the engine bigger down the road.
