Hi Mike. I know they are probably a waste of time and money since the aftermarket heads are reasonably priced but these are what I`ve got. At the moment they are bone stock 1.94/1.5 186 casting camel hump heads. I plan on going to a 2.02 or 2.05 intake and a 1.6 valve. What kind of numbers can you get from these? Probably going on either a 11.1 327 or 11.1 350, depends on what parts I can come up with cheap. Thanks.

275cfm or so on the intake with a full port. You can dump a bunch of money in them quick. I would keep it simple and just bowl port them with big valves. Unless you are racing a class that requires them, I would do the aftermarket thing.

Thanks Mike. This is a street/strip deal so no racing class at all. I don`t have the cash for aftermarkets so I`ll have to keep it simple with these heads untill I can afford something better. I had already planned to do some bowl work and gasket match the intake and run them on my budget 327 that I`m putting together now but I was thinking about my future motor. Maybe by then I`ll have some money to go with aftermarket heads. Thanks again.

I did the 186 thing a while back. It started with a bowl cleanup and add larger valves...then machine for larger springs(do not go any deeper) then mill and tap for screw in studs. Total after all was said and done...950.00. I ended up selling them for 500.00(got lucky) These ended up flowing 235 or so.
You will make more power with a set of 250.00 vortecs...sell the 186's to a restorer.

Thanks Jim. I had $1000 12yrs ago in my old 041 heads. Went through the same thing and ended up selling them with the motor to a friend. i know how well the vortecs flow but I already have a intake and i`m not in a position to buy another one along with the rocker arms and valve covers needed for them. plus having them upgraded to work with my cam. I`m going to do the bowl work and gasket match and just do what they need to work for my current build. I do want to go with aftermarket heads someday but can`t afford to anytime soon.
