Need some recomendations/help in choosing heads fro my project. Car is a 66 Chevelle. Car will be 90 street with occasioanl track use, but is not a daily driver. Bottom end is a 454 .030 over with TRW forged pistons (2349's LS6 repro slug). Cam is a Lunati hydraulic roller 60212 which specs as follows: 292/300 Advertised duration; 231/239 @ .050; .600"/.600" lift; 110 LSA. was planning on running 750-850 carb, high rise dual plane intake, 1 3/4-1 7/8 headers and 2 1/2 to 3" dual system. This tied to a TH400 with a 2800-3000 converter and 3.73:1 rear gears.
So to choose heads. I have a set of 781's that are bare and have been cleaned and magnafluxed. So should I send in the 781's to CFM performance for all of thier work ...have them opened for 2.19/1.88 Ss valves, full vavle job and assembly and port work...or is the $$$ not worth it and should I just obtain a set of World cast Iron oval ports from Mr Stark. All suggetions are very welcomed,,,,especially from Mr. S
Thanks
scott.

I would do the 781's. They make surprising power for little money. There really isn't a big gain going to the Merlins at that level. You can make 550HP pretty easy with a bowl ported 781 and drive it all day long. Call me for a quote at (317) 241-3432
