I had an issue with a seal on an ehhaust valve coming off the guide and riding up the valve. This caused the small spring on the seal to break and land in the valve cover.I'm trying to install a new seal with the motor in the car.The seal has a metal body with a neoprene top which has the small circular spring attached to it.The old seal was similar except it had rubber inside the metal bodt which is supposed to hold snug on the guide.I'M guessing that the new one without the rubber inside the metal body is just an interference fit on the guide, but when I tap it on with a 7/16 socket I can still take my two fingers and pull it off the guide.Should it pull off this easy or Is there a way I can use like a hardening permatex to attach the seal body to the guide ?This is a BBC,Dart Pro-1 355 CNC head.

You need a positive retention seal. You can try glueing it down, but you should probably get the correct seal. The guide has a .531" OD. Let me know if you need one and I'll send it to ya.
