I need you guy's thoughts on this. I have a 422SBC Street set-up with Protopline 235cc Al heads(Out of the box). Lunati HR 242/252@.050, 10.9CR, Nit.Exp. plate system. Chassis Dyno'd at 372hp and 440lb-ft on motor. Now I know these Desk Top Dyno programs can be pretty bogus, but mine shows a switch to AFR210RR heads should give me good increase in HP and Torque (~30Hp average between 3500-6500rpm). Should I believe this thing or what? I know AFR's are supposed to be good but don't know if this is real. It just so happens I've acquired a set of AFR210's. Should I rip these Toplines off and go with the AFR's. Your opinions are appreciated.

Im my opinion for use mostly racing I would think the Pro Toplines would work better because of the larger port volume and they supposedly/should flow more than the AFR 210's. Engines your size tend to want more. But these heads have a weak exhaust flow compared to the AFR's. This makes me lean towards the AFR's. I dont know how much lift your running but thats a big factor in useable airflow.
On the other hand for a street car with less lift I would try those AFR's because they flow a little better down low and about the same untill after .525+ they would most likely make a ton more toque, with more throttle response. The AFR exhaust side is also much better than the Pro Toplines.
It all depends on what you want to do with it. I would honestly send those AFR's to Mike Stark CFM and have him do some of his fine port work. That will get those AFR's flowing better than the Toplines and anybody elses AFR's. Save yourself the time and get the heads done to the max the first time, you will be very happy you did. Words of experience.

I only have the Adv. flow#'s from Topline and the flow#'s listed for Iron 235's in CHP's website. I do have flow#'s on the AFR's and they're very close to those listed on AFR's website. Yes, it appears that the Topline Int. mid lift flow#'s are lower than the AFR's up to .600" lift (204 vs 243cfm @ .400"). And my cam only has .560" lift. Also, the Exh. #'s are also significantly better for the AFR's and if I'm spraying this thing that should be a good thing right?
Guess it's time to contact Mike and send him my AFR's.........
Thanks guys.

Want to thank you guys for the advice and thank Mike for the nice porting job on my AFR's. I swapped out my Topline 235's for a set of CFM ported AFR210's. Had one chance to go to the track. I gained 3 mph and .2sec on ET (11.27 and 121.8MPH). The motor has a lot more bottom end and mid range. Pulls a lot harder. Now I just need to get it hooked up and the nitrous turned on. This things gonna be a lot of fun with 150shot
