A newbie here! I have a 406 CI in my 1985 Corvette. I have Race Ready AFR 210 heads I have 3.07 rear gear but will be putting in 3.45's I have a ZF 6 speed manual tranny Static CR is 10.95:1 Stock EFI A Bullet Cam, 233/233 Hydraulic Roller cam with 284/289 Adv Dur at .576 lift, 112/ LS I am putting on a Lingenfelter Superram intake. Question, is there much to be gained by porting the AFR to flow @ 300CFM? My only single run at the dragstrip was with street tires and a TPIS Miniram intake and the results are below. 12.581 at 114.50 MPH 60'=2.145 1/8= 8.303 1000'=10.643 Shifts at 5800RPM. my concern is that the Superram will peak out at 285 CFM and the AFR's flow @ 277/280 at @ .576 lift I will be putting some slicks on this summer ocne the rear gears are in and the Superram is on. Thanks for any help, Larry INDY

Anytime you remove restriction from the intake tract you are heading in the right direction. Even if the super ram is down on the flow I bet there is something to be gained from the heads. from the looks of it you are making pretty good power right now though.

Thanks Mike, as the car sits it dynoed at 385RWHP / 405 RWTQ.
In changing to the Superram, the longer runners will boost the TQ number up @ 25 RWTQ, just guessing.

You should pick up way more then 25tq with the superam. Porting the superam (because of the small 1 5/8" cross section) and the heads would get you some power, but the heads should come 1st. It is common for intakes to flow less then the head, since the intake doesnt have a valve in it, it isnt restricted, thus can flow less to keep up with the engine.

Thanks, I think I will have Mike flow the Superram first and see what it flows. I should be able to get it over to him before the end of the month.
The most I have ever seen the Superam flow is 285 CFM after extensive porting, and the 210's flow close to that now.
If the heads out flow the Superram, isnt that a problem?
