Mike, i have the 23* R/R 256cc in iron, that flow in the mid 350's for a 257cc int. runner, ext. flows 265, if i were to open the int. runners up, would help the flow or hurt them, the bore is 4.185 - 4"stroke - 6.125 rod - CP (special piston)w/ 9" deck. my combo is running real great, mite stay with this for next year. just looking to add some HP'S, the car now is on a diet, went earlier this year at 3275lbs- 9.23 @ 149mph. small 150ft. wheelstand. I race in the NMCA's Pro Stock Class.thanks.

Some marginal gains in flow and cross section might net you a few CFM. Don't expect a ton of gain, but a class like NMCA Pro Stock needs attention to every detail.

I agree to the point that when you are limited in cylinder head as you are in that class, attention to every detail matters. If they are out of the box heads, I am sure there is more to be found as far as a bit in the port as well as in a valve job alone. I find that the cam is very important when you are limited in cylinder head. If you have a real good running combination. I would recommend going on the dyno for a couple days and fine tuning everything. You would be surprised what you will find. Every little bit helps. I am a big believer in dyno tuning, although it is not in the car, it helps get the most out of hwat you have, and once that is done, go over the whole car. Alot to be found in rolling resistance, converter, gear, shift points, etc..

Thanks alot guys, we are planning on working the heads a little, and to the Dyno is in the works, there are two other people who have these heads, and they said to work the cross section, and open the intake runners up and the heads should flow in the mid to high 360's, and i got the manifold they said Dyno's the best with those heads, Edelbrock # 2971, Dom. flange, i'll keep you posted, thanks again.
