Anyone have flow numbers for the Canfield 350cc heads for a BBC? The guy I got these from said they were 365cc ports, maybe after porting? Brian

I spoke to a head porter today that said he flowed a set of the Canfields after porting. They flowed about 365cfm at .750" and the port size ended up at 363cc. Can anyone backup or dispute these numbers, they're not very close to Canfields claim. Brian

well, I don't have first hand experience but 365 cfm sounds low for even an un-ported 355 head. TEA supposedly are getting 420cfm out of the "good" port with their CNC program from the 310cc head!! Mike Stark has told me he gets 395-400 cfm out of the ported 310s so I doube 365 is correct for the bigger head. Also, a while back, someone on the other board a guy, I think his name was Donald, had a set of ported 355 Canfields, switched to the AFR 357 Magnums and lost 2 tenths, couldn't get it back until he put the canfields back on.

Hi BrianB and Chuck, The guy's name is Donald Smith and he had two different sets of Canfield Heads. I think the first set was a ported 310 CC and after changing over to AFRs he lost a little power. He then purchased a set of 350 CC Canfields from CFE in Michigan and got his power back but these heads cracked through at the spring seats after porting, which i hear is a common problem with this head. I havent heard of this happening to the 310 Canfields though. I guess "buyer beware" is likely the best advise. I also think that Jegs has bought up Canfield and might have more information on the current heads.
