I have a 406SBC. I have 2 sets of heads Dart 230s iron eagles and Protoline 200cc Iron. The both have 54cc chambers The pros have 2.055-1.6 and the darts have 2.08-1.625 valves. They flow close to each other now. 280-190 at .650.
Would it be better to port the protoplines and use them on the 406? At 200cc they seemed too small but now im thinking same flow...smaller port...is a good thing It is a 3800lb ride

I'd port the 200s since its a heavy ride. But how radical of a motor is it? what rpm? cam? If its a mild street deal go 200s, if its pretty radical and rpms - go with the 230s.

its a race only deal...it is slow now with the 230's. I built it to rpm...but I dont think it has to now . heres some info It's a 67 chevy truck...long wheel base. with driver it weighs 3800lb. I have 406. GM splayed block eagle 4340 crank 6" Hbeam rods 8cc vr flat top (forged wiseco) 55cc dart iron eagle 230. super vic and holley 950 1-3/4 headers. 5000 stall th400/brake and 4.56 with 28" tire. compressions at 12.5-1 measured. it runs 11.6x at 113 in 3000' air and runs 10.90's with a 200 shot. N/A it 60' 1.6x I am only looking for it to run NA The cam is comp solid roller 300b6. 268-271 @.050 with .630 lift. 106LSA installed at 102ICL.
It runs the number OK but I think it should be much quicker, especially MPH wise. I am tired of constantly being the slower car. I run pro(NoE) in div 7.
Im thinking about going to a taller tire and a 4.86 gear. this would put at 4.30 with the 28" tire
