I am currently running 434sbc in a 3075lb S10.I had to replace pistons early in the season and stayed with the JE flat tops.Cam is a solid roller 294/302 adv .645/.645 list with a 106 lc AFR 210 cc heads that have been rolled to 20 degrees 2 weeks ago I switched from a victor jr to a fully ported super victor from CFM.I made no improvements in et but is probly due to the small heads and am also running a 950hp.My et's are getting better with the weather 6.65's to 6.70's at 102-103 1/8 mile. What kind of improvements can be done to my current heads or am I better off getting 230-240cc heads.

Your pretty much at your limits with those heads, regardless of valve angle. By reducing valve angle, the port is still not high enough to take advantage. Optimally a nice set of SB2.2 heads would make the most power, but with your given combination, keeping the pistons and headers, etc.., I take it you are just looking for another set of 23* heads? Your best bet would be to switch to a 23* raised runner, minimal. The most you will see is 245-250cc's in the runners, but the raised runner works alot better than the std. runner. Yes the volume will also help. What is the compression? Current cam specs @.050"? Rocker ratio? I would run the Jesel comp series on the RR heads with 1.6 ratio as well, cam ill depend on compression and everything else. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply Mike Yes I want to stay with a 23 degree since I just spent 800 on the new pistons. My heads are 64cc which gives me just over 12-1.Cam at .05 is mid 260's can't remember for sure.I took out my first cam on the first pass of the season where I stuck a lifter and didn't know it.I had the motor out 3 times in may and the last place I told them to tear it all the way down CHECK EVERYTHING and replace anything qyestionable.Turns out the heads that came on the heads were just passed the limit and they missed it.I replaced the springs and picked up 7 mph in the 1/8.They didn't even degree my cam I asked they where they installed it and they said straight up. .I am also thinking of uping my compression to around 14-1.Which RR heads would you suggest.I have a line on a set of ALL Pro 227 RR's that have ZORIAN SHAFT ROCKERS which I have never heard of but the guy won't seperate them. What do you think.Oh ya I am currently using 1.5 rockers.

You can work your heads up to about 315 cfm. That alone will give you the volume and flow to make a bunch more power. Should put you in the 6.40 range pretty easy. My 434 in a 3300 lb car went 6.20's with 3.70 gears and a nitrous converter. Had a set of Dart 215 Pro-1's on it.

What would it cost to get the flow to 315 and how much would the 2 extra points of compressin help. The cam thats in now was used i was also thing of changing it this winter.

The additional flow offers a lot of power potential. The extra compression will help, but like we spoke about on the phone.. It my kill your piston to valve clearance with all of the milling.

Will 2.10 intake valves get the flow into the 320's?I will check my piston to valve clearance before sending them to you.

Probably not. The 2.080" will support 320 cfm. The restriction will be the ports cross-section. I would keep the valve you have.

I keep thinking about selling mine and starting with a bigger runner head all together but I need to decide. What do you think about the Pro Topline 235's?If both were fully ported would their be much gain from one to another?

It would be pretty minimal. Probably not worth the hassle of switching.
